Dans le parc des guides sont répartis tout au long du chemin pour expliquer et informer sur le paysage et la végétation mais aussi pour obliger les gent à faire des haltes pour s'habituer progressivement au changement de pression et au manque d'oxygène.

Vers 4500 m les nuages se dissipent enfin laissant entrevoir une vue spendide sur ce paysage volcanique...

Arrivés à 4800 m nous laissons la voiture et commençons une ascension d'un kilomètre pour arriver jusqu'au glacier qui se trouve lui a 5100 m d'altitude. Une pepite marche qui sur le papier ne semble pas bien dur (1km avec 300m de dénivelé...) mais qui dans la réalité est un
peu plus compliqué.

Mais avec la motivation de savoir que nous pourrions allé marcher sur le glacier, nous n'avons pas cédé et après 2 heures de marche nous atteignions enfin le glacier a 5100 m.
Pour beaucoup de colombiens c'est la première fois qu'il peuvent toucher de la neige... de là nous pouvons voir la cime du volcan qui culmine à 5400 m.

Nous redescendons et partons à l'hôtel "los termales del Ruiz" qui comme sont nom l'indique possède une piscine thermale (heureusement car une coupure électrique privée l'hôtel d'énergie et donc d'eau chaude dans les douches...).
Je crois que nous avons tous passé un très bon moment malgré les quelques mésaventures.
Pour ma part une ascension d'un autre volcan et au programme : le volcan du Tolima, mais cette ascension se fera à pied de bout en bout...
